You nailed it.
I’ve been struggling to achieve my deep passion for Business Analsysis since last 7 years with my existing employer, a huge enterprise. I’m an over achiever amongst top 3 performers in my existing role but my senior management just cannot see me transition into any other role. I’m 59yrs old and have spent last 20 years with the same employer. It’s challenging to overcome the fixed mindset in my existing role. They don’t want to lose me as a business development professional to a Business Analyst role. I feel highly motivated to carry on pursuing what I love after reading your post.

She’s currently a Business Analyst consultant, but has also worked as a Business Process Analyst, Technical Writer, and a Trainer. She has a Bachelor of Education degree, and was a secondary school teacher for years before becoming an editor at a publishing house. At 35 she went back to school to retrain, by completing a Computer Programming diploma at college. She been in IT ever since. She attained a Business Analyst certificate in 2011 at the age of 66, with a 97%, the highest mark in the class. She loves her job.
